1. Riso Printing I heard about Riso printing when attend the OFF PRINT event at the Tate. “How does it work? RISO printing uses master sheets to transfer the ink from the drum onto the passing paper according to the design that has been scanned in or entered digitally. The artwork is transferred onto the master sheet by a series of heated spots on a thermal plate which burn away the artwork shape leaving voids in the master. The master sheet wraps around the ink drum so that the coloured ink can be pushed through these voids onto the paper that passes through at a high speed. Every print using this master will be the same colour. If you require a colour change, you will have to remove the interchangeable ink drum, replace it with your desired colour and create a new master to wrap around that drum “ - http://www.peopleofprint.com/general/top-15-risograph-printing-studios/ gocco print: is a type of riso printing.

After visiting some events and exhibitions I have become more strongly interested into print making. Clerkenwell Design week 24-26 may I have previously attended Cleckenwell design week before, when I visited last time I was in a tall three/ four story building. After attending this years design week I do prefer last years layout to this years. I feel that there were a lot of design studios on display spread over layer stretch of area, which meant a lot more walking and I tended to lose my bearings. Over all it was still a really good event I would attend again. Self Promotion and Magazines I collected House Of Vans 13 -29th may : FICTION RECORDS: A RETROSPECTIVE I saw online that there was a small exhibition taken place at the house of vans the exhibition was about the history of friction records from 1978. They were also displays representing the history growth of Vans. There was also a cinema room. Off Print London 20th- 22 may Off Printing London to place and the Tate and was an event about book, publishing and printing companies throughout Europe. I thought this event was amazing. In one place I was able to see what other publishing and printing companies are around, that you would not see straight away on Google search, within London. It was a really nice event and there was a lot of companies even from Amsterdam. Which is where I am considering staying or moving to pursue graphic design once finishing my degree. During the event I was talking to one of the people represent RCA and they were talking to me about riso printing. I only just learnt about riso printing from attending the event and looking round. She then told me what it was This was a brilliant event and hopefully if will happen again, if so I most definitely will be attending again. Original Print 14-22may In Richmond there was an exhibition in a small gallery displaying different artist work. They are using traditional printing methods to create their work. I attended the event because I am into traditional printing and thought it would give me inspiration on working with different printing method.
